Les Negresses Vertes - Биография

Les Negresses Vertes явились на свет в 1987 году, собрав под свои знамена музыкантов из Парижа и южно-французского региона Камарг.

Название родилось совершенно случайно - однажды приятелей не пустили в ночной клуб из-за внешнего вида - ярко-зеленых волос, обозвав к тому же “зелеными неграми” - les negresses vertes. Фраза понравилась и вскоре ансамбль с таким названием стал завсегдатаем концертных площадок парижского северо-запада.
Заимев контракт с независимой фирмой грамзаписи Off The Track, группа выпустила сингл 200 Ans D’Hyprocrisie, как некий вызов лихорадке празднования двухсотлетия Великой Французской Революции. В 1989 году вышел лонг-плэй Mlah, в том же году Les Negresses Vertes записали на английском кавер-версию композиции Коул Портера “I Love Paris” для сборника Red Hot + Blue, сборы от которой перечислялись в фонд международной анти-СПИД организации. Добившись признания на лондонской клубной сцене, LNV попали в поле зрения Мадонны, которая поспособствовала включению их песни на саундтрэк к фильму “Dick Tracy”.
Двумя годами позже появился второй альбом Familles Nombreuses, записанный в Лондоне с новым барабанщиком Z‚ Verbalito и продюсерами Клайвом Мартином и Соди. В декабре того же года коллектив выступил в Бейруте это был первый крупный концерт западных музыкантов в стране со времени начала войны в 1975 году. Последовавшие затем гастроли по Скандинавии, Голландии и Испании стали настоящим триумфом LNV. В тот же период у вокалиста начались серьезные проблемы с наркотиками и главным автором песен стал Канавезе.
Примерно через год после релиза Familles Nombreuses, Рота умер от передозировки наркотиков; следующий номерной альбом Zig Zague коллектив записал только через три года (в начале 90х был переиздан Mlah и выпущен сборник ремиксов) - и до конца 90х о них ничего не было слышно. Вышедший в 1999 году Trabendo спродюссировал британский электронный гуру Хоуи Би , пластинку высоко оценили критики по обе стороны Ла-Манша, за нее группа получила Викторию за лучший альбом с “новыми тенденциями”.
Acoustic Clubbing - перезаписанные “живьем” в студии старые треки и сборник хитов Le Grand deballage - появились в продаже в начале нового века.
