Treble Charger - Биография

История канадской группы Treble Charger началась в не очень далеком 1994 году. Трое парней встретились в средней школе в канадском Онтарио. Их звали Грег Нори (вокал, гитара, клавишные), Билл Приддл (гитара, бэк-вокал) и Рози Мартэн (бас, клавишные). Позвав с собой Морриса Палтера в качестве ударника, они решили организовать группу, наспех назвав её NC-17 (такая аббревиатура в Канаде и США ставится на коробки с фильмами, которые не рекомендуется смотреть детям до 17 лет). Не успев набрать материала на полноценный LP, парни нарвались на угрозы судебной расправы со стороны американской группы с точно таким же названием. Делать нечего, пришлось придумывать новое название для группы, коим и стало «Treble Charger».

Тем временем накопленного материала как раз стало хватать на альбом, и, не долго думая, парни создали свой собственный лейбл Smokin’ Worm (Где ж им иначе записываться? Никто из тамошних звукозаписывающих компаний и слышать о молодой группе не желал, пока те не сотворят что-нибудь эдакое.), на котором и выпустили свой дебютный альбом, угробив в итоге на все около 5 000 вечнозеленых. Лонгплей по доброй традиции назвали NC-17. Вот тут-то на них и соизволил взглянуть один из местных инди-лейблов, Sonic Unyon, который переиздал NC-17, чем обеспечил диску славу самой продаваемой в Канаде инди-пластинки. Баллада «Red» с этого диска стала безумно популярной на коллежском радио и даже на Much Music (это такая канадская музыкальная телесеть). Началась довольно успешная концертная деятельность группы.
