Death From Above - Биография

Канадский дэнс-панк-дуэт Death From Above 1979 был основан в Торонто в 2001 году. Неизменный состав группы составляют Джесси Килер (бас, синтезатор, бэк-вокал) и Себастьян Грейнджер (вокал, барабаны). Отказавшись от ведущего гитариста, парни вдвоём стали играть кричащий дэнс-панк, располагая минимумом инструментов: бас-гитарой и барабанами. Также в некоторых композициях задействовался синтезатор (особенно в песне «Go Home, Get Down», во время исполнения которой Джесси откладывал бас в сторонку).
DFA1979 записывались на Last Gang Records в Канаде, Vice Records в США и 679 Recordings в Великобритании.
Хотя по некоторым сообщениям они встретились на концерте Sonic Youth, Джесси и Себастьян иногда в шутку говорили, что встретились в тюрьме, на пиратском судне, в гей-баре, вводя некоторых журналистов и своих поклонников в заблуждение.
