Les Savy Fav - Биография

Группа образовалась в 1995 году, когда в колледже Род Айленда встретились будущие участники Les Savy Fav. Их общие интересы в музыке представляли: Fugazi, Nation of Ulysses, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox и другие. После двух лет концертной деятельности, в 1997-м на лейбле Self Starter Foundation Records выходит их первый лонгплей 3/5.
В 1999-м басист группы Сид Батлер основывает лейбл Frenchkiss Records, на котором в дальнейшем выходят почти все альбомы группы. Стоит также перечислить некоторые удачные коллективы которые подписаны на этой студии: The Hold Steady, Passion Pit, The Antlers, Ex Models.
Второй альбом вышел в октябре 1999 и назывался The Cat and the Cobra, также запись была достаточно высоко оценена авторитетным изданием Pitchfork. ЕП альбом Emor: Rome Upside Down был издан на Southern Records, и был внесен в топ 200 альбомов десятилетия по мнению все того же потчфорка.
Далее были альбомы Go Forth (2001), Let's Stay Friends (2007), компиляция синглов Inches (2000) лайв альбом After the Balls Drop (2008) которые тоже не были обижены музыкальными критиками, также песни группы засветились на нескольких сборниках.

Интересные факты о группе:

- Песня "Hold Onto Your Genre" является саундтреком к игре Major League Baseball 2K7;
- Бывший барабанщик группы Pat Mahoney играет сейчас в LCD Soundsystem;
- Лондонская группа Jetplane Landing записала песню с названием "Why Do They Never Play Les Savy Fav on the Radio?";
- Выступления Les Savy Fav сопровождаются чрезвычайно энергичным и артистическим поведением вокалиста Тима Харингтона который всегда одет в различные забавные костюмы;
