Sleeper - Биография

Группа Sleeper образовалась в начале девяностых в Лондоне. В её состав вошли студенты Манчестерского университета - фронтвумен и гитарист , позже к ним присоединились уроженец Сомали басист и барабанщик .
Первым синглом группы стал гранжевый ‘Alice in Vain’, выпущенный в 1993 году, за которым последовал и первый альбом ‘Smart’. Первым синглом Sleeper, попавшим в Top 20, стал суперхит ‘Inbetweener’. Последним синглом с этого альбома стала несколько провакационная песня ‘Delicious’.
В 1996 году группа выпустила свой второй, более отшлифованный музыкально альбом ‘The It Girl’. Его продюссером стал Стивен Стрит, работавший ранее с Blur, The Cranberries и The Smiths.
День 13 октября 1997 года ознаменовался выходом третьего альбома Sleeper ‘Pleased To Meat You’, В составе группы произошли некоторые изменения — группу покинул прежний басист, которого заменил Дэн Кауфманн .
16 декабря 1998 года Sleeper разорвали контракт со своим рекорд-лейблом и 30 декабря официально заявилии о своём распаде.
В настоящее время Луиза Венер являеется успешной писательницей; её книги выпущены на английском и немецким языках.
