Снуп Догг — рэпер с Восточного побережья, коллега Dr. Dre, прославившийся благодаря своим альбомам Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather и Reincarnation. В мире Кельвин Броадус, Dogg родился в Лонг Бич, Калифорния. Прозвище получил от матери: любопытный взгляд маленького Кельвина напоминал Снупи, пса-персонажа из мультика Peanuts. После выпуска из школы Броадус несколько раз задерживается полицией в связи с подозрением в хранении наркотиков, дело заканчивается тюремным сроком.
Начало девяностых связано с рядом обвинений в хранении наркотиков и оружия. В 1996 году Снуп ушел от обвинения в убийстве члена банды, которого положил выстрел, сделанный из машины рэпера.
Снуп начинает заниматься музыкой, чтобы прорубить дорогу с низов, и знакомится с Dr. Dre, ставшим для него наставником. Первый альбом Doggystyle вышел в 1993 году и добрался до первого места Billboard в жанре hip-hop. В тот год проблемы с законом, а следовательно и заголовки газет, "помогли" Снуп Доггу с популярностью: в девяностых Кельвин являлся самым настоящим гангста-рэпером. Криминальное прошлое и фирменный расслабленный стиль читки становится визитной карточкой Snoop Doggy Dog.
