The One AM Radio - Биография

The One AM Radio музыкальный проект Hrishikesh Hirway (Хришикеша Хирвея), композитора и автора текстов из Лос-Анджелеса. Музыка представляет собой мягкий вокал и мечтательные инструментальные аранжировки. Хришикеш Хирвей сам записывал большинство своих композиций, играя на нескольких инструментах и воспроизводя бит. Стиль балансирует на гранях: electronica, folk, post-rock, chamber music, and ambient. В живую он выступает с аккомпанементом.

Рождённый в Массачусетсе, Хришикеш основал The One AM Radio в годы студенчества в Йельском Институте, где изучал искусство и кинематографию. Несмотря на основную стилистику, The One AM Radio часто выступала и выпускала композиции с представителями DIY hardcore punk сцены. Семья Хирвея из Индии и в 2005 Хришикеш переехал в Мумбай, продолжая заниматься музыкой. Он вернулся в Лос-Анджелес в 2006.

Второй альбом The One AM Radio «A Name Writ In Water»вошёл в десятку лучших альбомов за 2004 год по мнению «Time Out New York». Несколько ремиксов на треки из этого альбома были выпущенны в качестве EP в январе 2005 под названием «On the Shore of the Wide World». EP оказался самым загружаемым альбомом в интернет-магазине iTunes среди стиля electronic в течение 3 недель после релиза и оставаля в десятке еще 3 недели спустя. Компания Pontiac купила лицензию на использование первого трека с этого альбома, ремикса на композицию «What You Gave Away» (remix by alias) для использования в рекламе, вышедшей в сентябре 2006г.
