Rico, ein Westberliner mit vietnamesischen Wurzeln, fing schon früh an Musik zu machen. Bereits 2010 stieg er bei dem von Kontra K und Skinny Al gegründeten Label DePeKa Records ein und trat auf der EP „Ein Herz aus Chrom ein“ in Erscheinung. Zusammen mit Kontra K, Skinny Al und Fatal beginnt er seine Karriere und veröffentlicht kurz darauf mit Letzterem die Kollabo-Alben „Ein Gauner kommt selten allein“ 1 & 2. Nach seinem Solo-Debüt „Isso“ hat der Berliner sich in der Untergrundszene gut etabliert und ist hungrig auf mehr.

Von Songs mit härteren Beats und straßenlastigen Lyrics bis zu einprägsamen Gesangshooks deckt der Sänger und Rapper musikalisch ein breites Spektrum ab. Dabei steht sein soulig – authentischer Gesang im Vordergrund. Ebenso schafft er ein Meer aus Lyrics, die im Kopf bleiben.

Nachdem das Ausnahmetalent bereits seit Jahren gemeinsam mit Kontra K auf der Bühne steht, folgte als logischer Schritt das Signing bei dessen neuen Label Tag1er Records. Bei seiner ersten Veröffentlichung über das Label arbeitete er mit keinem Geringeren als Deutschlands erstem Diamant-Rapper Bausa zusammen und schaffte mit „Junkie“ somit das Fundament für kommende Projekte. Im Juni folgte der nächste Song „Ohne Filter“, bei dem Rico sein Gespür für eingängige Hooks wieder einmal unter Beweis stellt.
