YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB - Sunday Afternoon

Wish i could fly away
To a better place
Like all these paper planes
That we used to make
When did it all go wrong?
Why is it all so long?
Lying awake till dawn
Leaving is all i want

Take me back to the days
When i knew nothing at all
When i wasn't scared to tell you
All that was in my heart

I wish i could go back to sunday afternoon
(when) time lasted forever, oh the air was cool
And the grass was long like the days of june
Unaware of all that hurt and my relentless doom
I’d give everything i have to make today feel like sunday afternoon

And as i'm standing in line
I yearn to go back in time
To when things were so easy
(and) everybody was around
Talking back and faking smiles
But the pictures came out pretty
Take me back to the days
When i knew nothing at all
When i wasn't scared to tell you
All that was in my heart

I wish i could go back to sunday afternoon
(when) time lasted forever, oh the air was cool
And the grass was long like the days of june
Unaware of all that hurt and my relentless doom
I’d give everything i have to make today feel like sunday afternoon

We'll never know where the time goes
Deep down i know that the best is behind us
Will we be okay tomorrow?
Give me something to hold on to, i'm hopeless
Will we ever make it back?
Can we ever drop the act?

I wish i could go back to sunday afternoon
(when) time lasted forever, oh the air was cool
And the grass was long like the days of june
Unaware of all that hurt and my relentless doom
I'd give everything i have to make today feel like sunday afternoon

YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB - Biography

22 year-old French singer, songwriter, producer and mix engineer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB has been quietly working on new music in the past year whilst producing and engineering for other artists. When she previously performed as MJ Bodson, she was known for her minimalist approach to songwriting and producing. After much thought and a rebrand, she’s approaching music differently — infusing alternative pop with sprinkles of popular African music such as soukous and makossa, as well as alternative R&B and Garage to create her own unique sound.
