Alestorm - Биография

Alestorm - шотландская группа, играющая в таких жанрах, как battle metal и folk metal. Появилась группа в 2004 году в городе Перт под названием Battleheart. Основная тема текстов - пираты и пиратство, поэтому сами музыканты определяют свой жанр как true scottish pirate metal. Группа была организована как дуэт двух музыкантов - Gavin Harper и Christopher Bowes. После издания (самостоятельно) EP в 2006 году реакция на их творчество оказалась столь позитивной, что они решили попробовать начать концертную деятельность, для чего набрали полный состав - басист Dani Evans и барабанщик Doug Swierczek. Через несколько дней они дали первый и при этом аншлаговый концерт. В таком же составе был записан второй EP, который получил ещё больше позитивных оценок. После выпуска двух EP группа подписала в 2007 году контракт с Napalm Records и переименовалась в Alestorm. Дебютный альбом вышел 25 января 2008 года.
