Guthrie Woody - Биография

Вуди Гатри родился 14 июля 1912 г. в маленьком городке Окима, штат Оклахома. После окончания школы перебивался случайными заработками, выполняя самую черную работу. Самостоятельно научился играть на гитаре и губной гармошке. От матери узнал много народных песен.

В 1930-е Вуди колесит по всей Америке, исполняя свои песни о тяжёлом труде, странствиях, жизни полной лишении, социальной несправедливости.

Удивительный талант к сочинительству обнаружился у Вуди ещё в детстве. Его песни отражали суть американского духа, его голос завораживал своей простотой и в тоже время ему старались подражать многие последователи певца.
