Of Monsters And Men - Биография

Of Monsters and Men — исландская инди/фолк группа.
Группа началась в 2009 с Songbird — сольного проекта Nanna Brynds Hilmarsdttir. Постепенно, для создания желаемого звучания, она стала приглашать других музыкантов. Так через год, получившаяся группа берёт название Of Monsters and Men. В 2010 группа побеждает на исландском конкурсе Musiktilraunir, и получает право выступить на влиятельном фестивале Iceland Airwaves. В том же году радиостанция KEXP из Сиэтла ставит в ротацию песню «Little Talks» записанную с живого выступления в студии станции.

К лету 2011 года «Little Talks» становится хитом №1 в Исландии. Группе было снова предложено выступать на Iceland Airwaves что говорило о растущей популярности.
В сентябре 2011 года Of Monsters and Men выпускают в Исландии свой дебютный альбом My Head Is an Animal который сразу же занимает первую позицию в национальных чартах. После выхода альбома звукозаписывающие компании начинают буквально драться за право подписать контракт с группой, в итоге победу одержала американская компания Universal Music Group, которая выпустла альбом My Head Is an Animal во всем остальном мире 3 апреля 2012 года.
