Cosha - Biography
Cassia O'Reilly, better known by her stage name Cosha (formerly Bonzai), is an Irish singer and songwriter currently based in London.
Born in Indiana, US to a jazz singer mother and raised in Wicklow, Ireland by her drummer father, she moved to London at 17 to start a degree at Tech Music School. She found a job as a backing singer for rising star NAO, whose management introduced her to Mura Masa. The producer was blown away by her talent and released two EPs – Royah in 2015 and Sleep Hungry in March 2016 – on his label Anchor Point under the alias Bonzai. Cosha later signed to Columbia Records, releasing the Lunacy EP in October 2016. “I Feel Alright” was released as a standalone single in July 2017. No new music would be released until May the following year, when O'Reilly announced her new artist moniker, Cosha, and the release of her aptly-named R.I.P Bonzai mixtape on June 1, preceded by the Rostam-assisted single “Do You Wanna Dance”.
