Erutan, also known by her given name Kate Covington, was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Her first original album, Raindancer, was released on November 22nd, 2010 on her official website.

Erutan was given her first violin when she was one and a half years old. She was a quick learner and soon was giving performances and winning competitions.

At 15 years old, Erutan joined Donnybrook Legacy, playing Celtic and medieval music at local performances. Her love for Celtic and ancient music grew as she continued working with them for 4 years.

Inspired by the soundtracks of RPGs such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross/Trigger, she began composing her own music around the same time she joined Donnybrook Legacy. Erutan also started writing lyrics, and with the support around her, she began to sing.
