Gleason is a songwriter who started making music back in December 2022, in response to fellow songwriter YourFavouriteShady writing a diss on him.

Only one week into music, and Gleason had written a 7-track Diss Album “WW1” on Shady. Then, only a few weeks later, “The Reckoning” was released, full of even more disses, hard hitting bars and catchy flows. Along with this, Gleason introduced a character to his songs “Lil Wheezus”, with a more gritty and American-Trap-based rap flow.

The introduction of characters would eventually be Gleason’s most iconic songwriting trait, with over 25 characters now being actively used. From the hilariously satirical “Yung RZZA”, to fast and grimey “Bluukon Tyron”, each Gleason character is designed with a completely different personality, writing style and purpose in mind.

Many months after making music, releasing 4 albums (CAPITAL, Understand., Volatile life and Eternal,), Gleason officially “retired” from making music by debuting “Where we’re going”, an album full of hard hitting and skilful raps, somber songs, and insightful skits. Gleason’s best project yet marked a change to his music, now focused on making the best art possible. This was commemorated by the deletion of Gleason’s Genius.com account, ensuring his older, more controversial songs, would be removed.

In late 2023, “THE EXODUS” marked the end of the old Gleason, and a “New Age” for his writing style and skill. This was further amplified by “BTB EP”, an EP written in 30 minutes in a hotel room. Gleason would continue to release projects, including a Christmas themed album in December, and a collection of a bunch of freestyles and unreleased songs just before 2024.

Now in 2024, Gleason has already dropped a dozen projects, from a collaboration album between him and Shady, featuring some of their best work yet, to “Young Gleason”, a great glimpse into the “old Gleason” while still retaining the artful craft. Along with these projects, Gleason released “CAPI2AL”, a sequel to his first proper album.

After officially announcing that “where we are.” (Releasing May 21st), would be his final ever album, Gleason has released a deluxe edition of CAPI2AL plus an expanded collection of songs. Along with this, many small EP’s have dropped, from Soda Shop, 4P, Biological, and Free. With only 2 months left before retirement, it is clear that Gleason is pushing as hard as possible to release the best quality songs.

Overall, Gleason’s progression over this last year has been an incredible journey. From rowdy, satirical disses , to skilful and lyrical masterpieces. With the integration of Characters, Gleason is ever versatile and his constant collaborations with Shady prove that he is no ordinary songwriter.
