Kid D - Biography
Critically acclaimed for his distinctive breed of ethereal ‘mature grime’ and hip hop productions, drawing on a range of influences including R&B, jazz and ambient music, Lewisham’s Kid D has carved a name for himself as one of the genre’s most emotive instrumentalists, and now has his eyes set on earning equal recognition as a wordsmith.
With countless hits to his name including Wiley and Skepta’s “U Were Always, Pt. 2”, Devlin’s “Limelight” and Hardy Caprio’s “SoundBwoy 2”, as well as an enchanting back catalogue on his own label, 2 Easy Records, it’s no surprise that he’s earned the title of Mixmag’s album of the month and even featured in BBC Winter Olympics coverage.
In 2020, watch out for his self-produced debut vocal project Substance – set to feature lucid collaborations with the likes of Novelist and Ghetts among others – as well as more iconic instrumentals to come.
